Scott Jorgensen, first citizen SID.City
as a child, I dreamed about writing a fictional book about "What if we didn't kill so many Indigenous People when the Europeans came to the Americas? - What would the world be like if we learned to live together in a better way?"
Over 35 years ago, I dreamed about turning the largest undeveloped tract of land on the US East Coast into a Sustainable City. Daniel Island is close, but is missing light rail and renewable energy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Island https://danielislandcompany.com/
Over 25 years ago, I married my wife, a native of Guatemala. I fell in love with a beautiful Mayan woman and with Guatemala.
Over 20 years ago, I turned my restaurants into to Green Restaurants https://www.dinegreen.com/ recycling all cardboard, glass and metals. And I made the trips to the recycling centers myself. I vowed that my children would never fight for oil and I would do everything possible toward a sustainable world.
Over 15 year ago, I started Solarsa, a solar air-conditioning system company https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91UKEOLf-VM. Solarsa was a founding member of Gulf Coast Chapter of US Green Building Council https://www.usgbc.org/ and was major sponsor for Santa Clara University in the 3rd Annual Solar Decathlon https://www.solardecathlon.gov/past/2007/team_santa_clara.html.
Today, I am promoting Sustainable Independent Districts (SID) with the same passions I held as a child and throughout my life

We are a private organization, trying to promote Sustainable Independent Districts (SIDs), based in the United States and privately financed, we seek to create sustainability projects, like SID.City our focus is to convert the old gold mines that have ruined the rainforests of Guyana in Sustainable Independent Districts (SIDs) that generate opportunities, creativity and wealth for generations.
Our goal is to create sustainable real estate development or green infrastructure. Make use of environmentally friendly construction technologies and practices, such as solar and wind energy, water management and waste management, as well as in the creation of green spaces and recreation areas for residents. Promoting sustainable mobility avoiding the use of vehicles.
For this we are forming an interdisciplinary team of experts in areas such as architecture, engineering, urban planning, and environmental sustainability to ensure that the project meets quality standards and meets sustainability objectives.
Our goal is to work hand in hand with the communities and to work in conjunction with local authorities and community organizations to ensure that the project benefits residents and is a positive contribution to the community as a whole.
As an organization we plan to conduct SIDs in Guyana and additional SIDs between Sarstoon-Temash National Part and Punta Gorda in Belize, as well as between Río Dulce and Río Sarstun in eastern Guatemala.
